Omicron Chi Omega is proud of the local activities we host in the Woodbridge and surrounding communities in addition to our international programs. Some of our signature activities include the Little Miss AKA Pageant, awarding annual high school scholarships, and the Gospel Fest.

Hosted by Omicron Chi Omega and The Ivy Foundation of Greater Prince William County, Inc.®, the Big Hat Brunch and Fashion Show raises funds to support Omicron Chi Omega's scholarship program and other community outreach initiatives.

In 2018, this event will take place on June 23 and will feature a delicious buffet luncheon, jazz music by our special DJ, a line-up in the “Big Hat Stroll” to show off guests' gorgeous headpieces, and a chance to win a prize. Guests will be able to bid on unique and interesting silent auction items, shop at an exclusive “vendor’s row;" then sit back, relax, and enjoy the fashion show! Featured designers promise to amaze guests with their couture and trendy fashions.

Omicron Chi Omega awards $10,000 in academic scholarships to high school students each year, promoting high scholastic achievement among students in Prince William County. In 2016 the following scholarships were awarded:

The Kimberly Davis Scholarship was awarded to Jneva Rae Norfleet, a graduate of Woodbridge Sr. High School. The Roslyn D. Dunn Scholarship was awarded to Brea Williams, a graduate of C.D. Hylton High School. The Mary G. Porter Scholarship was awarded to Jordan Crawford, a graduate of Potomac Sr. High School. The Mildred Brown Scholarship was awarded to Jace Moore, a graduate of Osbourn Sr. High School. The Mary F. Williams Scholarship was awarded to Curtis Woodcox, Jr., a graduate of Potomac sr. High School. The Educational Advancement Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Amity McCloud, a graduate of Potomac Sr. High School and Virginia State University, who will be attending George Mason University to pursue a graduate degree.

Every year, for the last 23 years, Omicron Chi Omega has held its annual Gospel Fest: "Celebrating Our Faith, Honoring Our Men." It's our way of recognizing the numerous ways African American men in the local community have worked to make a positive impact in Prince William County, Va. Male choir from the Northern Virginia area are invited to sign, and more recently, we've invited special guests, such as Vickie Winans and Luther Barnes. Learn more and purchase a ticket here.



Hosted by Omicron Chi Omega and The Ivy Foundation of Greater Prince William County, Inc.®, the Little Miss AKA Pageant is a bi-annual scholarship pageant for girls between the ages of 5 and 17. 

The 2017 Little Miss AKA Pageant Kick-off meeting will be held January 8, 2017, from 3pm to 5pm at NOVA Community College, Woodbridge Campus. Registration is available through January 31, 2017. For more information, email lmaka@omicronchiomega-aka.com
